Of Cats and Assholes

Some miserable, worthless fuck-wad ran over our cat this morning. No one seems to have seen anything, and the coward drove off. Any way you slice it, Peppercorn is gone, gone, gone, and Mandy has to stay locked in the house because he won't stay off the street, sniffing the spot where she was lying.

This just sucks.

I am so sorry to hear that. I've lost too many cats to careless drivers. I know how that feels. And it really sucks that the driver didn't do anything.

Our babies are limited to a "catio". It's a roofed over, enclosed dog run and they learned to use the dog door. But the little one keeps venturing out when the dogs go out and we have to catch her and bring her back in. Too many cars plus we have coyotes here.

That's truly horrible.

It's bad enough when they get taken by cat stuff like age or curiosity.

Hope your customary good cheer returns soon.

Sarah, it's a tough call, isn't it? Cats want to go out and play, but don't understand "stay away from the street."

Whirl, it is mightily unfair, isn't it. Such a lovely kitty leaves a big hole.

I am so very, very sorry. I just don't have the words for it.

Oh god, I'm so sorry.

I wish I had better words.
